HVAC DDC BAS Controls Lead Technician – Houston, Texas                          

 

Reports to: Operations Manager – Building Integration

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HVAC DDC BAS Controls Lead Technician will work as part of a team which will be responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning and servicing of DDC building automation systems. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly with customers, mechanical contractors, mechanical engineers and fellow employees.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of technicians on BAS projects to maintain project schedule.
  • Must have good computer skills and be familiar with IP networks.
  • Creation of animated frontend graphics and minor software changes.
  • Checkout, start-up and commissioning on BAS projects.
  • Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure the complete system functions properly.
  • Must be familiar with various hand and power tools.
  • Performs service repairs, adjustments and calibration on building automation systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to technicians as applicable.

 

 

Qualifications

The Required Profile

  • 5 years of experience with HVAC Building Automation Systems, LON, BACnet, and Niagara Tridium.
  • Some flexibility to work overtime/weekends.
  • Proficient in reading plans, submittal drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Both written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • General understanding of IP networks.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • 5 Year with Lonworks and BACnet Control Systems
  • High School Diploma, Military Service and/or Trade School
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
  • Niagara Tridium AX and N4, familiar with Siemens Talon, and/or Distech Controls.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

 

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
